TRAVEL CHEER

OVERVIEW

Travel Cheer (Football):

is for 5th and 6th graders that are experienced in cheer and have mastered all cheer motions, are experienced in multiple cheer jumps, and have some level of experience with cheer stunts. The travel cheer squad will continue to build upon this baseline of skills by fine -tuning motions and jumps, and implementing stunts and tumbling into cheers and chants. The squad may also incorporate dance based upon the skill level of the squad. The Travel Cheer squad will cheer for 5th/6th grade travel football team. The season runs from August through November.

Travel Cheer (Basketball) :

is for 5th and 6th graders that are experienced in cheer and have mastered all cheer motions, are experienced in multiple cheer jumps, and have some level of experience with cheer stunts. The travel cheer squad will continue to build upon this baseline of skills by fine -tuning motions and jumps, and implementing stunts and tumbling into cheers and chants. The squad may also incorporate dance based upon the skill level of the squad. The Travel Cheer squad will cheer for 5th/6th grade travel basketball team. The season runs from November through January.

Expectations

Travel cheerleaders will be expected and master 50-75 chants and cheers; cheer jumps and motions. Cheerleaders will attend 1-2 practices weekly and attend all games scheduled by coach. Cheer squad will cheer at all home games and travel to away games that fall within Hamilton County, some Marian County and Boone County( no further than 20 miles from Westfield). A typical schedule will have 1-2 games per weekend.

TRAVEL CHEER (Football)

WHO: 5th & 6th graders (2023-24 school year)

FEE: $TBD (paid after making team)

Included: The registration fee will include uniform top and skirt, spanx, hair bow, and poms.

TRYOUTS: WIS: July 12th at 6:30pm
