WYSI offer two levels of Lacrosse programs - In-House Lacrosse (8U) and Travel Lacrosse (10U, 12U, 14U).
IN-HOUSE LACROSSE
8U (generally K-2nd grade)
8U will have 10 to 12 days of activities starting in Mid-March or right after Spring Break. The first several sessions will include training on fundamentals and basic stick skills. The later sessions will include skill development and live scrimmages. Full lacrosse equipment is needed and is not provided by WYSI. To play in games, each player must have a valid US Lacrosse ID. If a 2nd grader would like to play on up on 10U travel, please contact Derek Horsby. .
Commitment: The expected commitment for the In-House league will be 1-2 days per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays or Sundays). We may have some indoor activities in late February or early March that may not follow this schedule. This will be based on our ability to get indoor space
Practices:
first practice: mid/late February or early March
days: Tuesdays and Thursdays or Sundays
Games: will typically be on one of the above practice days
TRAVEL LACROSSE10U, 12U, 14U (generally 3rd-8th grade)
We will also have at least one travel team at each age division listed below. There are no tryouts, and everyone will be placed on a travel team based on their skill level. We will likely have more than one travel team at each age group and some players may play on both the A and B team. The A team will be expected to compete at a high level and the B teams will be focused on player development and building knowledge of the game.
These teams will play in competitive games against other teams in the Indiana Youth Lacrosse Association (IYLA). The 12U and 14U A teams will compete in the IYLA State tournament at the end of the season. 10U, 12U and 14U players will be placed on each team based on a skill evaluation. Full lacrosse equipment is needed and is not provided by WYSI. To play in games, each player must have a valid US Lacrosse ID.

*We will also be selecting players to compete in very competitive tournaments that will not be including in the registration fee. All selections to these teams will be at the discretion of the coaches to put the most competitive teams together as possible at every position. Playing time will be based on the game situations. If your son is selected and available to play in these tournaments, we will divide up the tournament fees by the players who attend and collecting that fee separately prior to each event.
