2012 Tentative Football Schedule
May 29-June 1 Spring Football with the Varsity Coaches (5,6,7,8th grades)
June 25-28 Coach Gilbert's Youth Camp (all grades)
July 16-20 Robo Camp (for all 5-6th grade players)
July 23-27 1st week of evaluations for all 3 and 4th grade players
2nd week of Robo Camp * Travel team picked at the end of this week
July 30-Aug1 2nd week evaluations for 3rd and 4th grade
Aug 4 In-hose Draft
Aug 6-17 Practice Begins (teams can have a max of 6 practices)
Instructional League for 1st and 2nd graders begins
Aug 18 First In-house Games
Sept 16 Border Wars Evaluations
Oct 6 Last In-house regular season Games
Oct 8-13 In-house Tournament and Championship
Oct 20-Nov 3 Border Wars Tournament

WYSI sponsors five football programs:
Kindergarten and 1st Grade Flag is an in-house recreational league for Kindergarten and 1st grade boys. Emphasis is placed on introducing players to the fundamentals of the game in a fun, less physical format. All games are played on at Washington Woods Elementary on the far west fields. Flag Football will have practice one night a week (day varies, depending on coaches), and play 1 game a week on Saturday morndings.For more information on the Flag Football league, click on the link above or contact the Flag Football commissioner.
1st and 2nd Instructional is an in-house recreational league for 1st and 2nd grade boys. This is a non-competitive, open participation league, to introduce fundamentals of football. The instructional league will also prepare them for tackle by introducing helmets and pads. The basis for this league is Fundamentals, Instruction and Fun. Games are played on the two fields at Freedom Trail Park. Practice will be 2 nights a week, and games will either be Wednesdays or Saturdays.
3rd Grade Tackle is an in-house recreational league for 3rd grade boys. This is a competitive, open participation league. All games are played on the two fields at Freedon Trail Park. Practices will be two nights a week and all games will be Wednesday or Saturdays.
4th Grade Tackle is an in-house recreational league for 4th grade boys. This is a competitive, open participation league. All games are played on the two fields at Freedom Trail Park. Practices will be two nights a week and all games will be Wednesdays or Saturdays.
5th and 6th Grade Tackle is an in-house (i.e. no travel) recreational league for 5th and 6th grade boys. This is a competitive, open participation league. All games are played on the two fields at Freedom Trail Park.
Travel Football is a competitive, select tackle program for boys in fifth or sixth grade. The travel team plays against other local area teams such as Carmel, Hamilton Southeastern, Lawrence, Noblesville, North Central, and Zionsville. Participation is based on tryouts and subsequent invitation.
