Softball Evaluations
WYSI Softball will hold evaluations this year in our attempt to create a fun and competitive in-house league. Every girl registered must be evaluated to ensure that our team drafts are fair. Girls come to the evaluations and run through the following drills: hitting, throwing, catching, fielding grounders, fielding popups, pitching (10U and 12U ONLY). Girls will be sent through the stations in groups and once their group is finished they are free to leave! Please see the evaluation dates below and plan for your daughter to attend!
8U - March 15th from 6PM to 7:30 Westfield Middle School Gym (West)- Mandatory
10U - March 16th from 6PM to 7:30 Westfield Middle School Gym (West)- Mandatory
12U - March 18th from 6PM to 7:30 Westfield Middle School Gym (West)- Mandatory
*Coaches will be contacted by League Commissioners with more information and assignments for evaluations. Coaches are required to come and help with evaluations.

Instructional League Information
Practices and games for our Instructional League girls will be held on Saturday mornings. Practices will be held on Saturday mornings for 45 minutes on the JV softball fields (across the drive from the WHS Football Field) and will be followed by a 45 minute game. This will allow our youngest competitors the opportunity to showcase the skills they have just worked on in their practices. Instructional girls get 3 coach pitches and then can hit off of a tee to succeed at bat. Players advance one base at a time and there are outs in the Instructional league. The Instructional season will run from Saturday, April 24th to Saturday, June 12th. Now Open to 4's also!

Pitching/Offensive/Defensive Clinics
March 26th & 27th
Come join the WHS Softball Coaching Staff and Players for their 3rd year of offering their Skills and Drills Spring Clinic. Friday night, March 26th from 5PM to 7PM @ the Varsity Field, will be a pitching clinic open to any girls interested in learning proper mechanics and drills for becoming a top pitcher in their league. If your daughter is interested in pitching, this is the perfect place to start! Saturday, March 26th from 1PM to 4PM @ the JV Fields, will be a day of offensive and defensive skills. Girls will work on hitting mechanics, base running, footwork, fielding, and throwing mechanics - plus much more! It is a great opportunity for all WYSI softball players to get a jump on the season and get to meet our Lady Shamrocks that are playing high school ball today! WYSI Sponsors 4 Softball Leagues:
12U is open to girls ages 11 & 12. This is a competitive, open participation league. Emphasis is on further skill development, sportsmanship, knowledge of the game, and having fun. Our goal is to start preparing for high school level softball. This is a competitive, open participation league.
10U is a league for girls ages 9 & 10. Players take over pitching duties in this league. Emphasis is on further skill development, sportsmanship, knowledge of the game, and having fun. This is a competitive, open participation league.
8U is a league for girls ages 7 & 8. Players receive equal playing time, with the emphasis on learning the game, sportsmanship, proper skill development, and having fun. This is a competitive, open participation league.
Instructional is an in-house tee ball / coach pitch league for 4, 5 & 6 year olds. Playeers will have an opportunity to hit a coach's pitch and then hit off a tee as needed. Emphasis is on learning the game, sportsmanship, and having fun. Parents are encouraged to participate.
