Prior to and during the football season, the WYSI FB pages will be updated with the most current information.  Scroll down on this tab for all of the latest news, information, and calendar events.  Check back often as new information is added frequently.

WYSI and it's coaches have, and will continue, to view player safety with the utmost importance. To continue with the proactive approach, the WYSI FB program has added directors for Equipment and Safety.  Our Equipment director will ensure that all equipment is properly inspected and train coaches for proper fit of protective equipment.  The Safety director will train coaches on identifying injury, establish rules for player safety and stay abreast of latest state legislation concerning athlete safety.

Football Equipment Turn-In

Saturday November 5th - 9:00AM - 12:00PM Football equipment turn-in at Shamrock Springs Elementary School Equipment Shed - at the South East corner of the parking lot.

2nd Annual WYSI  Youth Football Chili Contest 

  Congratualtions to the winning Chili Entries:

Equipment Hand-Out 2011 Season (5th/6th ONLY)

Deposit required at equipment handout. Deposit of $125 covers pads & helment rental.

Pre-Season Football training for Incoming 4th, 5th & 6th Graders

Equipment Handouts for all 2011 Tackle Football Athletes still needing equipment.

WHS Varsity Football Youth & Middle School Camp at the Varsity Practice Fields.

July 18 - Aug 4, Robo Camp

5th and 6th grade evaluation and travel tryouts.  All 5th and 6th need to attend at least one week at camp and evaluations.

Robo Camp Information: Robo Camp is a 3 week period where travel coach, Mark Robinson (Robo), runs conditioning and drills prior to 5th / 6th travel team tryouts and in house team selections.

Robo Camp is from 5:30 - 7:30 PM at Freedom Trails Park (7/18 & 7/19)

Draft Day Party at Ben & Ari's at 12:00pm.

**Draft Day is for 4th and 5th/6th Grade in house teams.  There is no draft for Flag or 2nd/3rd Grade Instructional, so Flag & 2/3 grade players do not need to attend.***

2nd / 3rd Grade League - Equipment Handouts at Shamrock Springs (10:30AM - 12:30PM) - equipment barn is located at the south-east corner of the parking lot.

All 2nd / 3rd grade League players should pick up equipment if they have not already done so.  All other grade levels who have not received their equipment should attend. Also, anyone with questions about equipment fit, can also go during this time.

$125 Deposit Required at Equipment handouts.  Deposit will be returned at the end of the season when equipment is collected.

August 8th

Flag Football Evaluations from 5:30PM - 7:00PM at Shamrock Springs

All players will run through drills for a pre-season training and 'evaluation session' to ensure balanced teams.  Please wear shorts, shirt, cleats.  Remember to bring plenty of water.

2nd/3rd Grade League Opening Day of Practice - High School Practice Field (north of the library) at 11am

The practice will begin with an informational discussion with WHS Varsity Coach, Jake Gilbert and Birch Dalton (Middle School coach and 2nd/3rd grade League Leader).  This discussion will include players, parents, and the volunteer coaches.  Following the discussion, players will begin warmups and drills.

2nd / 3rd Grade Instructional League - practices begin MONDAY's & WEDNESDAY's from 6:30 to 8:00 at the High School practice field.
