WRESTLING

Sport Overview

WYSI participates in the Pioneer Wrestling League and will wrestle other programs like Carmel, Pendleton, Mt. Vernon, Fishers, HSE, Western, Delta, and others at no cost. These meets are usually during the week at one of the participating schools. There are open tournaments which are optional on Sunday as well and usually carry a small cost. Athletes are not required to participate in the meets. It is up to each parent to determine how active they want their child to be with respect to competitions. Once the competition season kicks off, we will compete in at least one competition per week as a club. These competitions may be inter-club duals, friendship meets, or open tournaments.

  • Skill Levels - Westfield Wrestling is for beginners and all skill levels.
  • Equipment - Wrestlers will be required to have wrestling shoes, or clean gym shoes. Each wrestler will be provided a singlet for them to keep as a part of their registration fee.
